Know Your Battlefield

Twenty waves of deal-hungry shoppers are coming for the vault. This is everything the warehouse crew wishes they'd told you: the ground, the guns, and the horde.

The battlefield

Top-down strategy diagram of the Warehouse Siege battlefield: a winding path from a glowing portal to the bank vault
Shoppers pour from the portal (left) and march the marked route to the vault (right). Build on any empty tile. Never on the path. Bends are prime real estate: towers there cover the route twice.

The rules of engagement are simple: kills earn margin (each enemy pays a bounty), clearing a wave pays a bonus of $40 + $6 per wave, and unspent cash earns 5% interest after every wave (capped at $200). Leaks cost lives. The vault holds 20. Upgrades cost 70% of base price per level; selling refunds 70% of everything you've put in.

Bosses

Seven wholly fictional parody bosses headline the siege's milestone waves. Each with its own mechanic, its own portrait, and its own trophy. All artwork is original; no real people, no real usernames, no OzBargain logo.

Documented legends

The bosses above are wholly fictional parody archetypes. The room that inspired them, though, is real. These are true, sourced stories from OzBargain's public history: archetypes only, documented with affection, and never used as targets here.

The Verber

A 2011 Logitech 100%-cashback deal brought on jokes about shelf-clearing "only to have the shelf-clearer himself post." The thread where a username became the room's shorthand for clearing the shelves. (wiki/epic_threads #10)

The Record Debut: the Tesla vote record

Member of the Month, March 2019, for the most-voted deal in site history at the time: a Tesla Model S at $164,465 with +2,831 votes. (node/451240)

The Drone Spotter: the $298 drone

Posted Bunnings' $298 DJI Mavic 2 Zoom price error. "Thanks Bunnings for making all of us SUPER HAPPY." One of the most beloved price errors ever posted. (node/490047)

The Tattooed Loyalist: the tattoo

During a scare about the "Death of Ozbargain", one loyalist got an OzBargain tattoo. The wiki's permanent record of the room's most permanent declaration of loyalty. (wiki/epic_threads #36)

Four highlights from the ten documented legends, with sources: Lore, Part 8: Deal-thread legends.

Field tactics

  1. Slow first, damage second. A $60 Price Wall makes your $120 Stock Limit dramatically more lethal. Open every run with friction.
  2. Respect the armor. Coupon Clippers take half damage from Price Walls and Stock Limits. Keep a Captcha Gate or Ban Hammer covering every lane they walk.
  3. Taunt the bends. A Honeypot Deal at a path bend diverts the whole pack for 2.6 seconds every 9. That's free damage time for everything in range.
  4. Don't brawl a Karen. Her aura cripples nearby fire rates. Snipe her from outside 92px or chain stuns until she drops.
  5. Bank early. 5% interest per wave compounds hard. If the next wave looks easy, hold your cash and let it work.
  6. Wave 5: kill the Necromancer first. Everything else on the wave is a distraction. Focus fire the boss before it starts resurrecting your kills.
  7. Wave 10: spread out. The Banhammer Mod's ban-slam stuns clustered towers. Ring the path with lone towers instead of one death-ball.
  8. Wave 15 is a two-front war. The Veteran's Hunter swarm needs slows and splash; the Veteran itself needs single-target focus. Split your coverage.
  9. Wave 20 is a siege, not a wave. Two bosses at once: the Influencer's bot entourage and the Scalper King sprinting for your cash. Max out Ban Hammers on the final bends, keep Captcha Gates ready, sell and reposition without mercy.
  10. Set targeting per tower. Click a tower and cycle its priority (T): First, Strong, Fast, Close. Captcha Gates on Fast snipe Hunters; Ban Hammers on Strong focus bosses.
  11. Combo your crowd control. Slowed shoppers take +30% from Ban Hammers (shatter); stunned shoppers take +50% from Stock Limits. Price Wall → Ban Hammer is a combo, not just coverage.
  12. Blitz easy waves. Send the next wave within 10 seconds of a clear to double the interest payout. Read the wave preview. If it's lurkers and deal bots, skip the shopping and bank the bonus.
  13. Save the Mod Intervention. $200, one 400-damage nuke, 3-wave cooldown. It's for the moment a boss walks through your kill zone at 10%. Not for wave 3.
